FAQs

What is therapy like?

It can be many different things, but most importantly, it’s a relationship between two people who care deeply about you. It’s a partnership that prioritizes your needs and works to support your goals. Sometimes, it can feel challenging and too honest. It’s all a process, but you never have to face it alone.

How much does therapy cost?

I know therapy is a significant investment in your time commitment and finances. My fee for individual sessions is $150, and $170 for couples sessions. I also offer limited sliding-scale spots that accommodate folks who may need a lower fee. I’m happy to answer any questions about the cost of therapy and sliding scale availability in our initial phone call.

What happens in the first session?

We’ll get to know each other. I’ll ask you what’s been going on and why you want to be in therapy right now. We’ll set goals for your treatment together. I’ll probably talk more in the first session than usual and will answer any questions for you. Hopefully, you leave our first session feeling lighter.

Do you take insurance?

As an out-of-network provider, I do not accept insurance. I know that can be a barrier to some, but I am happy to provide you with a monthly statement you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

How long will treatment last?

It really depends. Some people come to therapy for specific purposes, and when they have met their tangible goals, they decide it’s time to go. Others want to be in treatment for longer periods and have a consistent person to talk to over the course of years. The point is- YOU get to decide how long the treatment lasts.

Any more questions?

Feel free to ask them when we chat! I try to give my clients as much transparency as possible and don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I’ll find someone who might. Fill out the contact form on the website or shoot me an email at kzkleintherapy@gmail.com
